Temporary fix for bad harddrive sectors

sup, this will teach you about how to temporarily fix bad sectors on your harddrive so that you can get your data off and on to a new one. First if you can, open up a command prompt by pressing the windows key on your keyboard, going to run and typing in "cmd". Once you have the cmd open type "chkdsk c: /r" without the parentheses and "c" being the letter of the drive that your fixing. Once you do that it will ask you if you want to run a chkdsk the next time you start your computer, press y and enter then restart your computer. When you restart, the check will automatically run and you might want to leave and do some other stuff for a few hours because it takes a long time to finish. If you can't login to your computer to get to the command prompt, you can get to it by resetting the computer and pressing the F8 key for more boot options, or you can use the windows recovery cd.
