Harddrive Defragment

sup, this will teach you how to defragment a harddrive. Defragmenting a harddrive will take the bits of files that have been scattered around the disk and put them back together. This will make your disk read faster. First you open My Computer. Then, right click on the drive you want to defragment and select properties. Go to tools and select defragment now. Again select the disk you want to defragment and click defragment disk. The process sould take about 1-2 hours and will make your harddrive load much faster.

Temporary fix for bad harddrive sectors

sup, this will teach you about how to temporarily fix bad sectors on your harddrive so that you can get your data off and on to a new one. First if you can, open up a command prompt by pressing the windows key on your keyboard, going to run and typing in "cmd". Once you have the cmd open type "chkdsk c: /r" without the parentheses and "c" being the letter of the drive that your fixing. Once you do that it will ask you if you want to run a chkdsk the next time you start your computer, press y and enter then restart your computer. When you restart, the check will automatically run and you might want to leave and do some other stuff for a few hours because it takes a long time to finish. If you can't login to your computer to get to the command prompt, you can get to it by resetting the computer and pressing the F8 key for more boot options, or you can use the windows recovery cd.

Flashdrive ntfs format

sup. In this post I'll be teaching you how to format your flashdrive into ntfs format to get around the 4 gig file transfer limit with fat32. First, plug in your flashdrive. Next, right click on My Computer and select manage. Then open the device manager and find your flashdrive. Right click the drive and select properties. Then click the policies tab and select optimize for performance and click ok. Now reopen My Computer and right click the flashdrive and select format. Then under File System, select ntfs and click start. Once you format all of the data on the driver will be gone so make sure that you backup any data that you wanted that was on there. That's it, the drives now in ntfs format.
